…..wanted to put pics on….but, wont let me, so will describe instead…
The garden after its new veg rows and runner beans, sweet peas and hollyhocks planted into the herb circle….which is being renamed as the ‘anthing that iv got left to plant, circle’ is flourishing….and looks really lovely…..will try and plant ‘kew garden selection of scented wild flowers’ (posh huh) seeds that ive grown in the green house, into the a.t.i.g.l.t.p. circle…soon!
Had, the man that does, to cut the grass and strim the edges and it looks absolutely lovely…..but in a relaxed, wild and wooly way, not all fluffy and groomed kind of way…..which is what i like…! so, its watch and wait and enjoy being in the garden and trying to stay on top of all those bleedin weeds….how come they grow faster than me plants…….still, im beating them at present….or maybe its 50/50…il think of them as plants that i havent planted….and enjoy them…(did i convince you? hmmm, lol)

Everything sprouting and spilling forth.
Where to put all this burgeoning life?
Quick – lets get 4 more beds in the veg patch prepared and we’ll plant as much as poss in there.
Then stick the runner beans in the herb circle. And the toms (possibly?) And loads of pretty wild flowers. It’ll be a hotch potch of random loveliness.
Better to birth as much life into the earth as we can, than let it wither and die.
There’s nothing to lose.
Everything to gain.

Have been added to the veg patch
ROW 6 ….. Onions……… …….Cauliflower
ROW 7 ….. Cucumber…..……Cabbage …….Radish
ROW 8 ……Beetroot…….………. Cabbage
ROW 9 ……Butternut Squash …Red Onions … Leeks
Yes, that’s 9 rows all together.
Georgi sieved rows 6 and 7 with her £1.49 green plastic sieve (then it broke under the weight of all the stone and rubble coming up)
Then we spread compost on rows 8 and 9 to make up for how thin the topsoil was looking.
Gave the new rows some lovely fishbone and blood, and watered the newly bedded plants in.
Organic slug pellets sprinkled around the flourishing plants in the top half of the patch. (The slugs slick on the pellets then slide off-stage somewhere to sick themselves to death)
Here’s how it looks now

Re-wired the fence, and plugged any gaps tight with green plastic pegs.
It looks very neat. A “proper job” as they say.
A job well done i say.
Very satisfying.

DIAGRAM OF VEG PATCH
This is what has been planted so far
ROW 1 Calabrese Potatoes
R0W 2 Brussel Sprouts Potatoes
ROW 3 Beans* Potatoes
ROW 4 Purple Kale Peas
ROW 5 Broad Beans Mange Tout
* We don’t remember what kind of beans these are
There’s still Buttercup Squash, Runner Beans, Cucumber, Cabbage, Beetroot to go in.
Radishes, Strawberries, and Tomatoes seem to be doing well enough in the greenhouse.
So need to dig at least another couple of rows.
Carry on right down to the bottom of the garden and out into the field with all those stupid sheep in!
(I is jokin. Relax Georgi!)

Georgi is keeping me informed of the gardens progress.
There’s wire fence all the way round the 6 beds (yes, we have 6 beds now – and possibly to be extended to 8).
She’s saying it looks good. And it does. Have a look

The fence is having the desired effect of keeping rabbit (munching) out and cat (shitting) off. And no sign of slugs either.
Five of the 6 beds have been planted but I’m not entirely clear what with. I’ll get back with more exact info forthwith.
Hoeing of any weeds that pop up will probably need to be done in the next few days.
And thats because the recent spell of warm sunny weather is switching everything on to “Go” for “Grow”.
Which is what we want.
May the garden be bountiful!

The days are longer and longer and so is the grass!!! But hey, summer is a comin and thats fine by me…. its lovely and warm out there and time to linger in the hammock, when the work is complete for the time being!! A glass of ice cold lemonade, a book (the female brain, well, nice to know how i might work) and time to reflect of my gardening activities:-
The veggies are planted now and are doing fine….all meshed up a Nesh End and organic slug pellet controlled, hoed and raked and watched….by me…. and the cats and what else, who else? Who knows….!!?? Its lovely here!
